The Odin Village Board has approved an ordinance setting rules for Queen of Hearts and other games of chance. The ordinance will initially cover only two non-profit groups, the Odin Fire Protection District and the ORDC. Mayor and Fire Chief Greg Smith expects the fireman’s association to seek a license to begin a Queen of Hearts drawing next month.
The owner of the Toad Alley Smoke Shop requested a video gaming license which will also require a liquor license. The board tabled the issue for further investigation and indicated they would probably not address the issue until after the new board is seated after the April election.
The creation of a new type of package liquor license at the request of Wager’s video gaming facility was tabled until the owner appeared before the council to explain the need.
Odin will begin putting their small sized water bills inside an envelope in hopes it will speed up delivery by the Postal Service. Many are complaining they don’t get their bills before they are due.
The Easter Egg Hunt in the Odin Village Park has been set for Saturday, April 19th.
Odin Police Chief Joe Nix handled 130 calls last month and made one warrant arrest.
