A 26-year-old prisoner at the Marion County Jail has been booked on an additional charge of aggravated battery to a police officer.
Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Clifton Wallace is accused of kicking a correctional officer in the abdomen area as they were trying to bring him under control in his cell after he began banging his head into the wall. A jail sergeant who came to assist was allegedly struck in the head by Wallace.
Cripps says neither jail employee required medical treatment.
Wallace was in custody for domestic battery and resisting arrest.
