The post season continues in IHSA girls basketball tonight.
Mt Vernon is the site for the 3a regional semifinal starting with Mt Vernon and East St Louis at 6pm and then Carbondale and Mascoutah at 7:30. Highland will take on Civic Memorial for the Olney championship while Effingham will play the hosts at Triad for that regional title.
In 1a regional championships tonight at South Central it will be Brownstown/St Elmo taking on Father McGivney at 6pm. Sandoval takes on Okawville for the championship at Dupo starting at 6pm, St Anthony and Altamont play at Neoga while Edwards County hosts Woodlawn.
Last night in 1a regional semifinal action at Marissa, Sesser Valier beat Waterloo Gibault 40-19 and Marissa over Trico 35-24.
In 2a regional championship action tonight, Mater Dei and Breese Central play at Columbia, Harrisburg takes on West Frankfort at DuQuoin, Nashville and Carlyle play from Greenville, Vienna hosts Johnston City, Carlinville at home against Hillsboro and Carmi plays Mt Carmel at Hamilton County.
In 4a, Belleville East hosts O’Fallon in their regional championship.
