The Salem Lady Wildcat Bowlers are headed to Rockford for the IHSA State Tournament next weekend after finishing 4th at the Mt Vernon Sectionals on Saturday.
Mascoutah won the team title with 5768 followed by O’Fallon 5636, Collinsville 5395 and Salem 5241. The Lady Cats were just 33 pins ahead of Belleville East for the final qualifying spot.
Willow Amburgey led Salem finishing 5th overall with her 1208. Brooklyn Hamilton shot 1059 for 31st and Ava Birch 1038 for 36th. Also for Salem, Mallory Hopkins was 83rd, Amelia Courtright and Brooklyn Bookout were 89 and 90th.
Mascoutah’s Emily Blanchford was the champion opening the tournament shooting a 275 Game 1 and finishing with a 1366.
Also advancing as individuals are Grace Wilson of Wesclin, Olivia Hemmerle of Belleville East, Lynn Shirley of Mater Dei and Maddi Brandenburger of Columbia.
