The Salem City Council Tuesday night will discuss the next phase of renovation work at city hall. City Manager Annette Sola is recommending Foresight oversee the renovation work which will include roofing and exterior improvements. The agreement is for $27,840.
The council will also be asked to approve a notice of intent to borrow funds through a loan agreement with the IEPA for replacement of part of the water main on Main Street. The estimated cost of that project is $820,500.
The council will consider finalizing the contract with J and M Amusements to provide the 4th of July fireworks display over the Salem Reservoir. The cost with be $25,000, the same as last year.
The Mayor and City Council will be asked to support the Intergovernmental Agreement with other municipalities to assist each other in disaster situations. The group has restructured, and they are asking for acknowledged support from Salem City Officials. There is a $100 annual membership fee.
The Salem Planning Commission is recommending the rezoning of properties at 1615 West Boone, a parcel on Hotze Road and Airport Road to RS-2.
An ordinance will be considered to establish a TIF Interested Parties Registry for the new TIF 4 District.
Bids will be awarded for materials for the summer oil and chipping program and patching.
A closed session is on the agenda to discuss personnel and possible acquisition of real estate. Action could take place after a return to open session on approval of donation of land.
The meeting begins at six Tuesday night at Salem City Hall, a day later than normal due to the President’s Day Holiday.
