It was a busy weekend in boys basketball. Kenny Bratton poured in 21 points and Centralia bounced back from their first loss since before Christmas on Friday night to Marion to beat Mounds Meridian at Trout Arena Saturday 69-60. Archie Goewey added 20 and Jaxson Hancock added 15. Devin Meier put in 11. The orphans improved to 25-4 on the year and for Lee Bennett, he is 2 wins shy of career win 700.

After clinching a share of the South 7 title Friday night, the Mt Vernon Rams traveled Saturday down to Marshall County, Kentucky and the Rams lost 53-42.
Also over the weekend, some area teams traveled to the Riverton Shootout. Benton beat Williamsville 47-32, Goreville over Eastland 55-41 and Waltonville knocked off Riverton 56-46.
