The junior high boys basketball state tournament opened up at Rend Lake College Saturday in Class L. The Centralia Tigers opened with a win beating Waterloo 63-35. They will play in tomorrow’s semifinal against Marion after they beat Belleville Whiteside 63-29. Murphysboro opened with a 63-36 win over Flora and Casey Mt Vernon lost to Carbondale 51-42.
Cairo won the Class S state title 50-45 over Germantown. Opdyke-Belle Rive won the 3rd place game beating Thompsonville 44-42.
