Eight Salem Wildcat wrestlers opened up the Carterville Sectionals last night. Two Wildcats won their opening matches. Keytin King improved to 43-2 at 150 pounds on the season with a win over Daniel Kiser of Lawrenceville. He will wrestle Tiffin Kouzoukas of Benton today in the semifinals. King has 98 career wins in 3 seasons at Salem.
Carson Osborne won his opening match at 190 pounds over Malikye Williams of Lawrenceville. The then lost to Casen Lyons of Sacred Heart Griffin and will wrestle in the consolation bracket today.
Cats who lost their opening round matches and will be in the consolation brackets today include Aden Doolen at 106 pounds, Kris Schicker at 113, Rylan Moore at 120 Kade Orrell at 144, Granger Motch at 165, Killian Merrill at 175.
