A grease fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the flue above the hood system of the cooking grill at the Hardees Restaurant in Centralia.
Centralia City Firemen say upon arrival flames were shooting ten feet out of the flue on the roof with black smoke after accumulated grease caught fire in the system to remove cooking smoke from the building.
The only damage will be to the hood system and flue. However, the restaurant will be closed until cleanup is completed.
The fire call came in at 2:46 on Saturday afternoon. All off-duty Centralia City Firefighters and the Centralia Fire Protection District were called to the scene but ended up not being needed. Sandoval Firemen were called to cover the Centralia City Fire Station in the event of another fire.
