The pairings for the boys post season will be out this afternoon. The sectional seeds were announced yesterday.
2a is a absolute murderers row with the top 8 teams in the Carterville Sub-Section A all having 20 wins and being ranked in state. The top 8 seeds are Althoff, Breese Central, Columbia, Pinckneyville, Carlyle, Nashville, Mater Dei and Wesclin. Only 2 of those teams are going to win a regional and advance. Benton is the top seed in Sub-B with Murphysboro, Harrisburg and Carterville joining them in the top 4.
The Salem Wildcats will be the 10-seed in the Marion Sub-A. Centralia is the top seed followed by Mt Vernon, Marion and Herrin with Olney 5, then Carbondale, Mattoon, Charleston and Effingham before Salem. Carbondale and Effingham are the regional sites.
In 1a in Sub-Section B of the Red Hill Sectional, Dieterich and Webber got the top 2 seeds with North Clay 5, Christ Our Rock 6, South Central 7, Patoka/Odin 12 and Sandoval 13. The regional sites are South Central and Webber.
