The Salem Fire Protection District reports a fireplace flue fire at a Cartter home Thursday night was confined to a fire place chimney.
The fire was at the Joanne Tate residence on Carter Road. The occupants had put out most of the fire before the fire department arrived, but there were still some hot spots. Firemen used a dry chemical to reach them.
There was no damage to the house itself.
The fire call came in at 9:30 Thursday night.
On Thursday afternoon, firemen were called to Salem Township Hospital for what turned out to be a false alarm.
