Breese Central remained unbeaten in the Cahokia Conference winning their showdown with Columbia last night 62-53. The Cougars trailed 24-22 at the halftime break but Kaden Rakers was too good finishing with 27 and Griffin Becker added 18. That erased 30 put in by Sam Donald for Columbia.
Marlon Price hit a free throw with no time on the clock in the 2nd overtime to lift Mt Vernon over Marion 66-65. Price was fouled on a rebound as time expired. He also hit a big three that put the game into overtime. Dave Barnes had a huge game and hit a bucket at the end of the first overtime to send it to the second.
St Anthony beat SC 56-40. Will Fearday led the Bulldogs with 21 and Ryan Schmidt added19. Westin Neilson led SC with 14 and Brody Markley added 12.
Hayden Huels led Carlyle with 25 in the Indians 66-38 win over Robinson.
Lucas Westendorf became the Dieterich All-Time Leading Scorer passing Cliff Westendorf with 1666 points on the year as Dieterich beat Martinsville 72-38.
TTown beat a good Casey Westfield team 47-33 on the road. Drew Hoene led the Shoes with 13 and Alex Kremer added 11. Hayden Purcell was great for Casey finishing with 27.
North Clay improves to 18-9 with a 79-76 win over Grayville.
Also in boys hoops last night, Christ Our Rock beat Father McGivney 62-42, Flora lost to Edwards County 47-35, Patoka/Odin beat CHBC 58-33, St Elmo/Brownstown beat Lincolnwood 48-46, Vandalia 91-68 over Litchfield, Wesclin beat Freeburg 78-71 and Woodlawn over Wayne City 63-41.
