As part of the plan to install new equipment at Fairview Park, the Centralia City Council approved an ordinance at Monday night’s meeting to remove 3 electrical poles and grant a perpetual underground electrical easement to Ameren Illinois for underground lines to replace the overhead lines running along the playground area at the park. The construction costs of $36,002 will be paid for with TIF #5 funds. The new playground equipment is expected to be installed at Fairview Park by the end of the current school year.
