The Salem Wildcats are off until they travel to Wood River on Friday night. The Cats dropped their 21st game of the year on Saturday falling to the visiting Orphans 60-17. Salem only scored 2 points in the 2nd half, a pair of Ryegan Warren free throws. Centralia won their 25th game and 18th straight. Archie Goewey and Devin Meier had 14 each. Centralia lost forward Michael Organ to a leg injury and was taken to the ER following the game. Also Jaxson Hancock left the game with an injury but he appears to be ok moving forward. The Orphans went 4-0 at B.E. Gum this season; Salem won just 2 games at home on the year. Lee Bennett is 2 wins shy of 700 career wins.
It was part of a Mega Day/Pink Out on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats fell to Centralia 44-40. Jasaiyah Wallace led Centralia with 10 of her 23 points in the 4th quarter as they outscored Salem 12-4 in the frame. Kaylee Bowdler had 11. Jordan Kessler led Salem with 12 and Emma Gregg added 10. The Lady Cats will host Flora tonight before traveling to Wood River on Thursday to finish up the regular season.
