Brian Bellamy, cherished father, son, brother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at his home in Marion, Illinois. Born on September 8, 1966, in Anna, Illinois, the son of John Bellamy and Mary (Teal) Bellamy.

A man of profound service and patriotism, Brian answered the call of duty by serving in both the US Navy and the US Army. His commitment to his country was mirrored by his dedication to family, friends, and his community.

Brian was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life like fishing and gardening. He was known for his creative spirit; whether he was painting or planning a new garden, his artistic touch was always evident. His love for target practice and his remarkable ability to breathe life into whatever he plants symbolize his nurturing soul and his quest for perfection.

Brian is survived by his beloved father, John Bellamy of Centralia; his treasured daughter, Brianna Bellamy, and her fiancé, Daniel Riley, of Sun City Center, Florida. He also leaves behind his devoted sister, Cindy Schmidt of Centralia, and his loving niece and nephews: Jessica Schmidt (husband Jeremiah) of Centralia, and Michael Schmidt (wife Erin) of Ankeny, Iowa, and several great nieces and nephews. Brian cherished the friendships he forged, especially with his special friend Elizabeth Leckrone of Marion.

He is preceded in death by his dear mother, Mary Bellamy, his brother Greg Bellamy, and brother-in-law David Schmidt, all of whom he has now joined in eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Following the celebration, Brian will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, Illinois, with Military Honors being accorded at the gravesite by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and the Centralia V.F.W.
