The Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Salem Firemen were called out to three crashes late Friday afternoon and early Saturday night.
A two-car crash was reported at South College south of Cross Road. Vehicles driven by 51-year old Ronald Schultz of East Locust in Salem and 43-year-old Sheri Heser of Paul Road in Salem collided. Reports on how the crash occurred are not yet available. Both drivers were checked on the scene for injury. The crash occurred at 4:30 Friday afternoon.
The second crash involved a truck with mechanical problems that pulled off Route 37 near Harris Road south of Salem and ended up in the roadside ditch. The driver, 47-year-old Randa Vogt, was not injured. That crash was reported at 5:20 Friday evening.
The third crash was on North Hotze Road north of Boone Street. 41-year-old Steve Kinderman of Alma reported he was northbound and looked down to grab something and ran off the side of the road. He then overcorrected and ran off into the ditch on the other side of the road. Kinderman was checked on the scene by United Medical Response but declined hospital treatment. The crash occurred at 8:08 Friday night.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called out to all three reported crashes but reported no need for extrication.
