Two Odin residents were arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop and the passenger attempting to flee on foot.
Sandoval Police say they completed a traffic stop on 58-year-old Robert Allen of Perkins Street after he failed to signal and knew he did not have a valid license. After pulling into a driveway along Main Street, Allen allegedly stayed with the vehicle and was arrested by Junction City Police. The passenger, 34-year-old Anthony Hays of Kingshiway allegedly ran on foot. The chase with a Sandoval officer went around several buildings into a field. While running, Hays allegedly threw a package that was later determined to contain drugs. The chase ended after Hays gave up shortly after being tased.
Both Allen and Hays were arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of under five grams of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Allen was also arrested for driving on a suspended or revoked license and Hays for allegedly resisting arrest.
Sandoval Police say they allegedly recovered fentanyl, a narcotic drug, and methamphetamine.
Sandoval Police say they are making a concentrated effort to stop speeding and arrest those in possession of drugs.
