The Salem Wildcats 2 year run as IHSA state bowling champions came to an end Saturday, but they showed their heart till the end battling back to finish 6th and for the 4 seniors, completing the most successful stretch the storied program has ever seen.

But the weekend belonged to the Harrisburg Bulldogs, who dominated the field and finished with a record 689 pins between them and 2nd place Machesney Park Harlem.  Breese Central had a great finish taking 3rd.

Carterville’s David Lutchka won the individual title averaging 231 over 12 games to win by over 50 pins.  He is the first individual state champion in any sport at Carterville since the 60’s.
