Fire destroyed a 12 by 12-foot shed in Odin Saturday morning.
Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says the fire was at a home occupied by Richard Atchison and owned by Joel and Marsha Hodge at 408 DeWolfe StreetHe reports the building was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival. The cause has not been determined.
Smith says while there was no electricity to the building there were battery-operated tools.
The closest building was 25 feet away and no other structures were threatened. There were no injuries in the firefighting effort.
Salem, Sandoval, and Centralia City were all originally called for mutual aid, but after a quick knockdown Sandoval and Centralia City firemen were canceled enroute and Salem responded to the Odin Fire Station in the event of another fire.
