The Salem Wildcats will take on 10th ranked Columbia tonight at B.E. Gum. Salem is coming off a loss at home to Wesclin on Tuesday night while Columbia just beat Waterloo. The Eagles are 18-4 overall and 5-1 in the Cahokia Conference only behind Breese Central. Game time around 7:30 on WJBD and streaming at WJBDradio.com. Salem will also be in action tomorrow at DuQuoin. The JV game will start at 4:30 with the varsity game to follow around 6.
Trout Arena will be the site for Round 3 of the Orphans and Rams as Centralia hosts Mt Vernon. The two teams split the previous two games with the Rams winning at Chagnon, and the Orphans most recently beating their rival to win the Salem Invitational title.
Also it was announced that the Centralia High School Pep Band has been selected to perform at the IHSA boys basketball state finals at the State Farm Center on Thursday, March 13.
Tonight, undefeated and state ranked Waltonville will get the first of 2 huge tests this weekend as they take their 17-0 record to 3a power Marion. The Wildcats are 15-4 overall. The Spartans will then travel to the Pinckneyville Shootout tomorrow where they will battle Centralia.
Last night in a battle of Nesto Hoops State ranked teams, Goreville knocked off Webber Township 73-51.
