In a great battle from start to finish, St Anthony held off Brownstown/St Elmo in the finals of the NTC Tournament 49-44. Dayana Haslett led BSE with 29. Ady Rios led St Anthony with 21. Tournament MVP Nancy Ruholl added 19.
In the 3rd place game, Windsor/Stew-Stras beat Altamont 47-45 and Dieterich beat CHBC 48-45 in the 5th place game.
The All Tournament team along with MVP Ruholl included Haslett and Madi Miller of BSE, Macee Rodman of CHBC, Neoga’s Brynn Richards, Addi Nuxoll and Ady Rios of St Anthony, Kaylee Lurkins and Kylie Osteen of Altamont, Brittney NIemerg of Dieterich and Samantha Hayes of WSS.
In other girls basketball tournament action at Carbondale, Mt Vernon nipped Marion 59-58, Carterville over Massac County 54-40 and Cairo beat Central Cape Girardeau, Missouri 75-57.
