A 35-year-old Kinmundy man has had two meth charges dropped against him after admitting he gave Salem Police false information on the ownership of the meth during a Salem Police Drug Investigation.

Michael Wimberly of East 4th Street was sentenced to two years conditional discharge, fined $75, and given credit for 138 days served in the Marion County Jail.  In exchange a Class X felony charge of possession with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of meth and possession of the drug were dropped.

Meanwhile, the person who allegedly had the meth was charged with Class X felony possession with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of meth and possession of the meth.  Whitley Mulvaney pleaded guilty in November to possession of the methamphetamine.  She received four years’ probation and given credit for 152 days served in the Marion County Jail.
