In light of the recent resignation of former library director Kim Keller, the Bryan Bennett Library Board has named a new interim director.
Her name is Jodi Trinkle, and she has held the new position for about a month and will continue to do so until the Board chooses a permanent replacement. Keller had been librarian for the last 19 years.
Trinkle has been the Assistant Director since 2022 and has many plans for the library now that she is in her newly acquired role, such as new programs, activities, and events. Those activities include more planetarium presentations, a poetry/painting activity, and a program to allow those with acoustic instruments to play together.
Trinkle says it’s been her lifelong dream to be a librarian: “I’ve been obsessed with books for as long as I can remember. I always enjoyed helping out at the school library. Like, when they get new books in, I’d help learn how to cover them so that I could help put them out on the shelves.”
At this time, Trinkle is the only publicly known candidate for the permanent Library Director position. However, there is still another month for any other possible candidates to be found before the final decision is made by the Board.
