The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports two Salem men escaped serious injury when the car they were riding went out of control when hitting an icy spot on Tonti Road near the Charleston Road intersection northeast of Salem.
Reports indicate the car driven by 18-year-old Frank Podergois of US 50 rolled several times before coming to rest in the roadside ditch. A passenger in the car was identified as 18-year-old Owen Becker of North College Street.
Both got out of the car on their own and declined medical treatment from United Medical Response.
The crash occurred just after midnight Sunday morning.
