Miss Marion County Fair Queen Preslee Harris of Iuka is at the Miss Illinois Fair County Queen competition in Springfield this weekend.
She is one of 74 county fair queens from around the state and will wear number 54.
‘I’m super excited to just meet the girls that I’m friends with from Central and North Illinois.’
Harris prepared hard for the interview questions and feels her essay titled US 50 will be received well.
“It is a very historic highway so it’s kind of about it and what it means for me and what it means to me and our area. It has a very cute ending”
The competition began Friday night with the interview questions. Queen Preslee will compete in the evening session of the preliminary round in an evening gown and swimsuit as well as give a one-minute on-stage speech. The event concludes on Sunday with the top 16 finalists being announced who will compete again onstage for the title of Miss Illinois County Fair Queen.
The pageant is run in conjunction with the Illinois Association of Agriculture Fair state convention.
Tickets are available for the Saturday night competition at the lobby of the Crowne Plaza.
