The Salem bowlers traveled to the O’Fallon Panthers Invitational. With most of the state’s boys teams represented it was a grind all day. The boys were the #1 qualifier after regular morning block and then 16 bakers games, but after beating Belleville East, they lost in the semifinals to Breese Central who ultimately won the title. Keaton Gullion was 2nd individually on the day to lead Salem shooting a fantastic 757 series. Ryan Detering added a 649, Silas Moats 643 and Rhett Detering 618. Jaxon Ward had a perfect game going until his 2nd ball in the 10th frame as he rolled a high game of 288.
The Lady Cats were 10th as a team. Ava Birch led them with a 673 series. Willow Amburgey shot 541, Brooklyn Hamilton 520, Lilah Barrows 432 and Amelia Courtright 430.
The Salem bowlers will honor their seniors this afternoon when they welcome Centralia.
