Four candidates have applied to be Marion County Highway Engineer.  The person selected will replace Mike McCormick who resigned October first to return to Bond County to be their highway engineer.  At least three of the four candidates are scheduled to be interviewed by the Marion County Board’s Road and Bridge Committee in closed session at a meeting scheduled for six Tuesday night.

After the interviews, the committee will return to open session to review the snow removal process following the two recent large snow storms.  Marion County Board Chair Steve Whritenour would like to investigate if the county should start using salt to break up snow and ice on the more heavily traveled county roads.

The Law Enforcement Committee of the Marion County Board is scheduled to meet at 5:30 Tuesday evening.

More county committee meetings are scheduled for Monday night.  The Building and Historical Commission will meet at five, Finance at 5:30, Budget at 6:00, and the Insurance Committee at 6:30 pm.

All the meetings will be held in the small meeting room on the first floor of the Marion County Courthouse.
