Macy Jones Makes Junior Team USA

Vandalia High student and Shobonier native Macy Jones completed a fantastic week at the Team USA Bowling Trials in Reno, Nevada that finished with a spot on Junior Team USA.  After finishing the final round in 12th place overall with a 204.50 average, it was a long evening of waiting.  Jones finished 10th overall but the top 6 were guaranteed a spot on the team with 2 at large selections also being made.  Jones was one of them.  Her overall total of 6143 for the 5 rounds was good for an average of 204.77.  It’s an amazing accomplishment for the future Vanderbilt Commodore.

Salem senior Silas Moats finished his final round with a 198.67 average to place 100th overall.  Moats finished his 5-day tournament with 5939 pins or an average of 197.97.  He was 114th overall and 87th in the Amateur Division.

Odin’s Rhett Runge was 124th for the day yesterday shooting a 192 average.  Runge was 169th overall with his average for the tournament at 180.57.
