The Senior Meal Program which has temporarily replaced the Project Bread Meal Program in Salem and most of Marion County outside the Centralia area reports they have checked up on participating seniors during the winter storm on Monday.
In addition to checking to make sure they are safe, staying warm and have food for Tuesday, they only had two seniors who requested a meal for Tuesday and they are ensuring their needs are met.
Organizers say they are prioritizing safety for both our seniors and the program’s volunteers. Regular meal delivery will resume as soon as weather and road conditions improve.
