A 30-year-old Centralia man was charged with aggravated battery in Marion County Court on Friday in connection with a December 17th road rage incident.
Clint Taylor of South Walnut is accused of using a deadly weapon, a metal rod, to intentionally strike the alleged victim in the head. Due to a prior Clinton County felony conviction, Taylor faces an extended sentence if found guilty.
The State’s Attorney’s office did not seek retention and Taylor was released on pre-trial conditions. He is scheduled to make a first appearance with his public defender on February 28th.
The sheriff’s department reports a confrontation occurred between the two men on the Meyer Road east of Centralia. The alleged victim did not require hospital treatment.
Taylor was located with the help of a witness who had obtained a photo of his license plate.
