The Salem Ministerial Alliance has ended its bell ringing campaign well shy of its $25,000 goal, but there is still time to help.
Bell ringers at Farm Fresh Market, Big R, and CVS Pharmacy brought in a total of $8,302.36. So far there have been $3,890 in mail in donations. That brings the total of the drive to $12,182.36.
There is still time to mail donations to the Ministerial Alliance at Box 1312, Salem, IL 62881. The alliance is hoping for some yearend help from the business community.
The Community Fund is used to help local residents and transients with one time needs.
The alliance feels donations may be down this year due to the money raised for the temporary replacement program for Project Bread which has been successful in raising funds needed to operate.
The Salem Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry also operates on its own funds and is not dependent on the Community Fund.
