The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has made a second arrest in connection with the armed robbery of a man taking a test drive in a vehicle before purchasing it.
Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Blake Hills of Nations Road was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at his home and a sawed off shotgun used in the commission of the armed robbery was recovered. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon.
The sheriff’s department arrested 40-year-old Lloyd McMullin of North Everett Street in Odin for allegedly committing the robbery during the test drive earlier this month. The victim allegedly turned over $2,000 to McMullin. When another car approached on the West Boone Street Extension, the alleged victim refused to get back into the car and flagged down the approaching motorist for help.
McMullin was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Cripps credits department investigators for tying Hills to the case and being able to recover the weapon believed used in the armed robbery.
Two others in Hills home at the time the search warrant was executed were also arrested.
36-year-old Donald ‘Keith’ Calendar of North Road in Odin was taken to the Marion County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
66-year-old Debra Bosler of the same Norton Road address in Odin was released on a notice to appear for possession of a firearm with no FOID card.
