The Centralia City School Board received a clean audit report from Glass and Shuffett at its regular meeting on Tuesday. The district maintained Recognition status with a financial profile score of 3.9, the same as the previous audit. The auditor described the district’s monetary reserves as healthy and the audit overall as very good.
Centralia City Schools received 18.5 million dollars in revenue and had 17.5 million in expenditures for the fiscal year. The district is currently at 30% of its long-term debt margin, with that number expected to come down as debt is paid off. The district currently spends $11,726 per student, with much of the expenditures related to ongoing construction. The audit shows the district having 284 days of cash on hand.
The board approved the yearly tax levy with a $190,000 or 4.9% increase from the prior year’s extension. The board also approved a resolution to abate $350,000 for the 2025 tax levy cycle.
In other business, the board approved the purchase of 79 Chromebooks at a cost of $18,745 from the Computer Equity Grant and awarded the winning E Rate bid to Clearwave for category one WAN and internet services for the 2025-26 school year.
In personnel, Paula Gebke-Wempe was hired as a bus driver.
