The Salem Lady Cats trailed 2-0 in their home game last night with Mattoon but finished the opening quarter on an 11-0 run and took a 29-13 lead into the halftime break.  They would run the clock in the 4th quarter on their way to a 53-28 victory.  Marah Johnson had a great game scoring 12 points, Jordan Kessler led Salem with 13 and Kale Benjamin added 8.  Hannah Smith finished with 9 rebounds.  Salem was 15-of-20 from the free throw line in improving to 6-3.  Salem will host Columbia Thursday night on WJBD in Cahokia Conference action.

The JV opened the night with a 56-29 blowout.  Nine Lady Wildcat scored including 13 from Katee Sellers, 10 from Kinley Eagan, Quinn Wolfe added 9 and Addie Lever 8.

The Salem fresh/soph girls are at Effingham tonight.

Last night, North Clay beat Dieterich 41-39 to improve to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in NTC play.  North Clay is coached by former Salem Lady Cat Haley Gregg.
