A 29-year-old Centralia man has had two counts of criminal sexual assault dropped against him.  Marion County State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth filed the motion to nolle prosequi the case against Silvino Morales Valencia of Cedar Street because efforts to find the victim to assist with further investigation have been unsuccessful.  Hudspeth says the case cannot be prosecuted without locating the victim.

Under nolle prosequi, the case can be refiled in the future.

Morales-Valencia is accused of sexually assaulting a 42-year-old woman while he was staying at her residence on Cedar Street in Centralia.
