A 19-year-old Salem man has been arrested for aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, stalking and intimidation following an ongoing disagreement with another man.
Salem Police say Jacob Miller of Salem Mobile Home Park allegedly struck the victim as he crossed the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot around 8:30 Monday evening.
Police later received a report of a window being broken out of the same victim’s car while parked on South Washington Street. Video surveillance reportedly showed Miller involved.
Miller was later arrested while a passenger in a car that had been stopped by police while reportedly driving without lights. Police say they also recovered a BB gun that is believed to have been used in several drive by shootings involving the same victim’s car.
Salem Police report because of the series of incidents they arrested Miller for stalking. Police say the intimidation arrest was because the alleged victim is also a reported victim as well as a witness in a case pending against Miller’s brother.
Miller was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges and a first appearance in court.
