A 37-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty in Jefferson County Court to one count of predatory sexual assault of a child and two counts of production of child pornography.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies first investigated Zachary Taylor following a March report of suspected child abuse involving a four-year-old juvenile. The investigation involved multiple interviews which led to search warrants for the suspect’s residence in Mt. Vernon and electronic devices, which were served in April. On June 6th, Taylor was located at his place of employment, arrested on a warrant that had been issued for his arrest, and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
