The Salem Wildcats will tip off their basketball season today with a pair of games from the Capital Classic hosted by Lawrenceville and Red Hill. The Wildcats open up with Lawrenceville at 11am this morning followed by a 6pm night game against Mt Carmel. I’ll have both games for you alongside Craig Holmes on 100.1 FM and streaming at WJBDradio.com. Also from Lawrenceville today, TTown will play Mt Carmel at 12:30 and TTown/Lawrenceville will play at 7:30.
At the Red Hill site today Red Hill and Olney play at 11 followed by Fairfield against Lincoln High out of Vincennes, Indiana at 12:30. Then tonight it’s Vincennes and Olney followed by Fairfield and Red Hill.
The Roxana Hoopsgiving Tournament continues today. The Gold Bracket semifinals will see Centralia and Staunton play at 5pm tonight followed by East St Louis and Southwestern at 6:30.
Today in the Silver Bracket, Civic Memorial takes on Alton Marquette followed by Gateway Legacy and Carbondale.
In the Bronze Bracket, East Alton/Wood River will play Freeburg followed by Roxana and Jerseyville.
Mt Vernon will continue their play at the Stove Top Stuffing Classic in Triad tomorrow after winning their opener before Thanksgiving 53-32. They will take on Triad at 2pm tomorrow and then Collinsville at 6:30.
At Christopher today Patoka/Odin will take on Zeigler Royalton at 6pm in the consolation semifinal followed by the championship semi between Waltonville and Marissa/Coulterville. That winner will play Christopher in tomorrow’s championship. At Elverado, Cairo and Agape Christian play at 11:30 in one consolation semifinal followed by Elverado and Johnston City at 1. Then Crab Orchard will play Galtia in the first championship semifinal at 2:30 followed by Sandoval and Pope County at 4pm.
At Mulberry Grove today, Ramsey takes on Lebanon at 5:15, then South Central and Father McGivney will play at 6:45 for a trip to the finals followed by Mulberry Grove against St Elmo/Brownstown at 8:15.
At Cumberland today, Okaw Valley takes on North Clay at 3pm in the first consy semifinal followed by Newton and Cumberland at 4:30. Then the championship semifinals start at 6pm with Casey-Westfield and Marshall followed by Dieterich and Vandalia at 7:30.
The St Anthony Turkey Tournament continues today with Rantoul and Edwardsville at 3, Breese and Robinson play at 4:30, Mattoon and Champaign Central at 6pm and then St Anthony takes on Effingham at 7:30.
At Wesclin today, the hosts take on Christ Our Rock at 6pm followed by Mater Dei and Columbia.
