An 18-year-old Centralia man was arrested on multiple gun charges after opening a door at a home in the 300 block of Melrose and pointing a gun at the alleged victim and threatening to kill him.
Aaron Smith of East Kell was taken to the Marion County Jail for aggravated assault, unlawful use of a deadly weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon no FOID card and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Centralia Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says upon review State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth found none of the charges allowed being held without bond. Whritenour says it’s unbelievable that someone could make a threat with a gun and not be eligible to be held.
