Police Beat for Saturday, November 23rd, 2024

Salem Police have arrested a 25-year-old Salem man for unlawful restraint and domestic battery.  Dillan Brown of North Trenary is accused of getting into an altercation with his girlfriend at the North Trenary Street address on Thursday.   Brown was gone before the police arrived.  The alleged victim was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.  Brown was arrested when returning to the Trenary Street home on Friday.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges and a first appearance in court.

31-year-old Phillip Simmons of East Breezeway in Texico was arrested by Salem Police for alleged domestic battery following an incident at a home on South Washington Street on Friday.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 47-year-old Dustin Ferrell of Warmoth Street in Salem on a felony failure to appear no bond warrant.

Salem Police arrested two people for retail theft at the Salem Walmart Store.  43-year-old Megan Bateman and 27-year-old Matthew Harris, both of South Hamilton Street in Salem, were later released on a notice to appear.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of items from a storage unit in Iuka.  Wind chimes, silverware, two paintings, and memorabilia were reported missing.
