Marlin D. Fortman, age 72 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
She was born on August 18, 1953, in Vandalia, the daughter of Richard and Roberta (Huddleston) Emert. She married Mark Fortman on August 25, 2014, and he preceded her in death in 2022.
Survivors include her daughter, Star Christianson, and husband, Ashley, of Salem; son, Steve Sarchet, and wife, Jessica, of Sandoval; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lisa Stine and Jewel Emert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Mary and Linda. Marlin attended the Kinmundy Christian Church. She enjoyed crafting, floral arranging, gardening, fishing, coloring, and going to Edy’s Resale. More than anything, she loved being with her children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 5:00 pm at the Apostolics of Salem Church with Pastor Calvin Jean officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and can be received at the church or Crouse Funeral Home in Salem, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
