Congratulations to the Mater Dei Lady Knights (38-3) who finished off an amazing season with their 2nd straight 2a state title and 9th in school history 19-25, 25-20, 25-23 over Bloomington Central Catholic.
Mater Dei junior Addison Nenninger and senior Avery Wuebbels were named to the state tournament all-tournament team for Class 2A. Nenninger was named the state finals MVP for the second straight year.
In the 2a third place game, Timothy Christian beat El Paso Gridley.
Mahomet Seymour capped off a historic season winning the 3a state title over Bartonville Limestone 22-25, 25-22, 25-18. Prairie Ridge won the 3rd place game over DePaul College Prep.
In 1a, Hardin Calhoun beat Stockton for the state title. Cissna Park over Hartsburg Emden for 3rd place.
In 4a, Marist beat Lisle Benet Academy for the state title. Lockport Township over Huntley in the 3rd place match.
