Eddie Lee Haynes, age 82, of Salem, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Salem Township Hospital.
Eddie was born on March 8, 1943, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Ivan Haynes and Betty Jeanette (Denson) Borrow. He married Veronica (Patterson) Haynes on May 22, 1990, in Salem, Illinois, and together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica of Salem; children, Tena Gould and husband Ronnie of Vandalia, Tammy Kinkle and husband Jeff of Pocahontas, Theresa Wolke and husband Monte of Siegel, Danny Graham of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amanda Graham of Odin, Jamie Bunton and husband David of Iuka, and Trudie Smith and husband Jason of Salem; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dog, Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Betty, and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Graham.
Eddie worked for many years as a lineman before retiring from AT&T. He was of the Christian faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and watching his favorite show, Gunsmoke. He was also a past member of the Salem Masonic Lodge.
