The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a residential burglary to a home in the 2500 block of Mercer Farm Road in rural Centralia. The break-in was discovered on Saturday.
The sheriff’s department is investigating a criminal damage to property complaint where a kid ran into the 3100 block of Selmaville Road and threw a rock at a passing vehicle. The driver reported damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The incident was reported at 2:32 on Saturday afternoon.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called to the Hoyleton Children’s Home facility at Lake and South Marion at 3:28 Saturday afternoon to a report of a smoke alarm set off by cooking. Firemen say there was no actual fire.
