The Clinton County Health Department closed the Wendy’s Restaurant on West Broadway in Centralia on Monday due to leaks in the roof. An official at Wendy’s in Centralia reported that the restaurant re-opened Tuesday afternoon following repairs and a re-inspection by the health department.

The health department’s inspection followed a complaint about a leaking roof and found several issues, including: brown water pooling in light fixtures above the service counter and dripping on beverage equipment, counters, and shelving, “vigorous leaking” from the ceiling in the restrooms, behind the service counter/beverage area, and two places in the back kitchen area, water found on the floor throughout the kitchen and service counter areas, pooling water found in the hallway and restrooms, the mop sink drain clogged, and employees’ clothing getting wet from leaks in the ceiling.

The inspector closed the restaurant immediately and gave specific instructions for correcting the problems and steps to take before the restaurant would be allowed to re-open. Wendy’s reports that it met those requirements and opened again on Tuesday.
