State Police have released the names of those involved in a crash last Sunday afternoon on US 50 at the Omega Road in Iuka.
Reports indicate the driver of a pickup truck was 21-year-old Jackson Johnson of Altamont. Police say Johnson didn’t obey a stop sign on Omega Road and was hit in the side by a semi-truck on US 50. A passenger in his pickup was identified as 21-year-old Hannah Wilson of Mason.
The driver of the semi-truck was 57-year-old James Collier of Sturgis, Kentucky.
Johnson had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Iuka Fire Department. Wilson was out of the vehicle before emergency help arrived. Both were later airlifted by medical helicopter to regional hospitals.
Collier was not hurt.
The crash occurred at 12:13 last Sunday, October 27th.
