A 29-year-old Salem woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for residential burglary and felony retail theft.

Shannon Hicks of South Washington received the six year terms on each case separately with the time to be served concurrently.

Hicks was charged with residential burglary to a rural Kell home in January 2023 and was charged with a retail theft at the Salem Walmart Store in November of last year.  The retail theft charge was a felony due to a prior retail theft conviction in Marion County.

Hicks will have to serve one-year mandatory supervised release and was given credit for 75 days served in jail as part of the sentence.
