State Police have released more details on a Sunday crash that resulted in two serious injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates a pickup truck traveling southbound on Omega Road approaching US 50 failed to yield at the stop intersection.  The pickup was struck by a semi traveling eastbound on US 50.

Both the driver and passenger in the pickup truck were airlifted from the scene to a regional hospital with serious injuries.

State Police at this time are not releasing the names of those involved.

The driver of the pickup was cited for Failure to Yield at a Stop Intersection and Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Iuka Fire had to extricate the driver from the vehicle, while the female passenger was already out of the vehicle on the ground by the time emergency help arrived.

We’ll have more information as it is released.
