The South Central Storm 18u team traveled to Olney to compete in their annual Monster Mash tourney on Sunday coming home with the win finishing 5-0 on the day.
After starting the day 2-0 in pool play and securing the #1 seed, SC opened up bracket play with a 10-3 win over the Fairfield Fury 18u. Then in the semi finals, the Storm would down Outkast Cox 18u 8-5 to move to the championship. In the Championship the Storm would hold a narrow 1-0 lead after 2 innings before adding 1 more in the 3rd and 4 runs in the 4th to get the 6-0 win over the Indiana Gators. Maddy Francois would throw a 1 hit shutout in the win.
The South Central Storm had 6 long balls on the day led by Taylor Stone with 3, Lauren Johnson with 2, and Camryn Martin with 1 homerun.
Storm will be back in action this Saturday in the Fasa Semo Showcase in Cape Girardeau. The South Central Storm 18u is coached by Mike Swift, Patrick Watwood, Josh Kreke, and Robbie Tennyson.
