Salem’s Zimmerman, Beer & Shober Advance To XC Sectionals, Mt Vernon & Centralia Girls Move On

The Salem Cross Country team competed at the 2a Regionals at SIU-Carbondale on Saturday. Placing 13^th and qualifying for the Olney 2a Sectional this weekend was freshman Kendall Zimmerman.

Also for the Lady Cats, Maci Thorsen was 30^th, Aila Laird 48^th, Adelyn Bumgarner 65^th and Eden Russell 68^th.

The Girls were 8^th as a team, Waterloo won the event advancing along with Carterville, Mascoutah, Mt Vernon, Freeburg and Centralia. The Annies were led by Aurora Amason who was 14^th, Alli Lammers 28^th, Charli Brammeier 38^th, Adaleigh Donoho 42^nd, Addison Luna 45^th, Mira Rich 58^th and Ryleigh Claybourn 59^th.

On the boys side, Caiden Beer was 13^th and Robby Shober 19^th to advance as well. Also for the Cats, Hunter Malan finished 33^rd, Scout Puricelli 47^th, Alex Spencer 51^st, Jacob Cape 75^th and Kevan Moore 80^th.

Centralia’s Caden Lamb finished 67^th, Landon Rau 72^nd, Preston Feig 76^th and Kolby Wielt 77^th.

On the boys side, Marion won the event followed by Mt Vernon, Mascoutah and Herrin in the top 5.
