Salem’s Zimmerman, Beer & Shober Advance To XC Sectionals, Mt Vernon & Centralia Girls Move On

The Salem Cross Country team competed at the 2a Regionals at SIU-Carbondale on Saturday.  Placing 13th and qualifying for the Olney 2a Sectional this weekend was freshman Kendall Zimmerman.

Also for the Lady Cats, Maci Thorsen was 30th, Aila Laird 48th, Adelyn Bumgarner 65th and Eden Russell 68th.

The Girls were 8th as a team, Waterloo won the event advancing along with Carterville, Mascoutah, Mt Vernon, Freeburg and Centralia.  The Annies were led by Aurora Amason who was 14th, Alli Lammers 28th, Charli Brammeier 38th, Adaleigh Donoho 42nd, Addison Luna 45th, Mira Rich 58th and Ryleigh Claybourn 59th.

On the boys side, Caiden Beer was 13th and Robby Shober 19th to advance as well.  Also for the Cats, Hunter Malan finished 33rd, Scout Puricelli 47th, Alex Spencer 51st, Jacob Cape 75th and Kevan Moore 80th.

Centralia’s Caden Lamb finished 67th, Landon Rau 72nd, Preston Feig 76th and Kolby Wielt 77th.

On the boys side, Marion won the event followed by Mt Vernon, Mascoutah and Herrin in the top 5.
